Since the mysteries of sexuality have always galvanized his creative imagination he began, several years ago, posting to Literotica, an online forum for writers of erotica. Over the next two years he wrote enough erotic short stories to fill a book. That was how Balls Of Cobalt Blue, and, later, Call Me Pandora, came to be. Stanfield now resides in Kingman, Arizona and is working on another book of erotic short stories, a couple of romance novels, and plans to produce several more CDs in which songs using his lyrics are showcased. The first CD, Crossroads And Highways, was released in 2008 by the band 7th And Beale. Inspiration: Many of my stories, “Win/Win Situation”, “Royally Fucked”, “Motorcycle Mama”, “Turnabout”, and “Ocean Interlude”, for instance, were written in response to a specific woman asking me to write a story based on her particular fantasies. In the same way that being touched by someone else is more exciting than touching oneself, seeing your fantasies filtered through the mind of another can add to the thrill. And for me, as a writer, the delight of challenging myself to inhabit another’s skin and see the world through her eyes is profoundly satisfying. He taught himself Adobe Photoshop and has become adapt and proficient enough at utilizing the software to such a degree that he has managed to sell a number of creations to various institutes and organizations. He is particularly fond of a logo designed for the Krazy Mug Coffee Shop and several covers that have graced the front of Probe. Gary has a vast knowledge of music and has appeared on the local Television Music Quiz Show Note for Note where he was able to win a substantial amount of prize money. In 2008 he entered the SF / Fantasy Mini Radio Play Competition and took first prize with his The Adventures of Captain Max Power of the Intergalactic Police - an obvious homage to the early Flash Gordon radio series’. A number of skilled professionals are now planning to produce Max to CD and have it aired on a local radio station (SAfm). All his literary and photojournalistic accomplishments have been done on a part-time basis due to the fact that his full time career is lecturing mathematics as well as engineering science at a Technical College. Although this is a most fulfilling profession, it has long been Gary's ideal to become a full-time writer – especially of fantasy, science fiction and horror novels. Ever since Moby Dick became The Great American Novel writers have dreamed of putting together their own version of epic greatness: I had the same ambition and my quest failed as badly as Ahab's quest for the great white whale. The Sex Monster gobbled it up. I prepared for my quest by devouring every book I could find on how to write novels. These books were written by successful novelists. Several of the authors revealed a curious fact: they had sharpened their writing skills churning out sex novels-- so-called porn--before they ever placed a manuscript with a 'legit' publisher. This struck me as odd but I paid it no mind. I took it merely as trivia. I plowed ahead with my plan to apply all my attention to my Great American Novel; any 'practice novels', porn or otherwise, seemed like a waste of resources and precious writer 'mojo'. I gathered all my notes and character outlines and got down to business. I put fresh lines on paper but I soon lost the thread and the story slipped away. So I took it apart and began sorting it out and tightening it up. But after my third or fourth re-write I had 100 stale pages that sagged under the weight of empty prose before the whole thing gave way and came apart at the seams. I needed to practice writing stories that had 'a beginning', 'a middle', and 'an end', to get a feel for how a story should develop. The way I went at it I was going nowhere not-so-fast. That's when my mind drifted to thoughts of smut: I decided to write my own 'porn' novel. When I first read about the authors 'honing their chops' writing porn I just thought it was odd. But it actually made sense. Sex had built-in conflict-- the basis for every good story-- and, where sex is concerned, who doesn't let their emotions overrule common sense? That is the basis for all irony (I loved irony) so I gave it a try. The great thing about that was I no longer felt any pressure to write perfect prose. It was strictly practice and so words flowed and great characters popped up out of nowhere. I had nothing to lose but my novel-writing virginity. I went for it. My novel experiment was set in a telemarketing office and like most first novels it was based on true events. So I wrote what I knew. According to the experts that is practically Novel Writing 101. I worked answering phones for an inbound telemarketing company. Afternoons were slow. Hours passed with no calls coming in. Reps were free to use the down-time as we pleased. Most reps sat and gossiped. I read books. To my way of thinking I got paid to read books. I learned things. I had my own on-the-job scholarship. That's actually where I read most of my how-to-write-a-novel books. One night my gossiping coworkers played a 'Name Game' where they took turns naming a person and the rest of them had to say if they found the nominee sex-worthy. I kept my nose in my book but I couldn't help overhearing. They started off with movie stars and celebrities and famous politicians and such. No one agreed on anything. One person's fantasy was another person's nightmare. Then talk turned to our absent coworkers and whether or not they were bedroom material. Again, no one agreed -- until Mildred's name came up. Mildred was our section leader. She sat at the head of the room and, in contrast to the rest of us, always seemed busy doing some work-related chore. She was taking a rare smoking break when the crew started talking about her. Mildred had the most perfect set of legs I have ever seen on a living person. They were dazzling. They were sexy. They were mind-boggling actually. I would look at them and try to figure out what it was that made them so perfect. I couldn't. A thousand other women must have had legs that were almost identical to hers-- but not quite. That slight difference made all the difference in the world. Mildred's legs blew my mind. There were times when I'd thank God for the simple pleasure of having Mildred's legs to look at on long boring nights. The first time I saw Mildred I walked up to her from behind; checking out her short skirt and her legs and heels in the process. Her auburn hair swung about her shoulders as she turned to face me. I had taken it for granted that everyone felt the same way I did about Mildred and her legs. After that I kept my feelings a secret. My first novel was an idealized fantasy of what might have happened if I told everybody how I felt and Mildred walked in and heard me. That temp assignment provided plenty of material for stories dealing with all manner of sex. That's why I say the Sex Monster devoured my Great White Whale. If I had never read those particular How-To books that mentioned porn novels I would probably never have tried it. If I hadn't worked at that particular temp assignment I would probably not written any sort of FemDom. That particular office was female-dominated. Women were the bosses and overwhelming outnumbered men. And because the atmosphere was so relaxed sex topics were bandied about like we were at a bar or something. By any standards, I have lead an extraordinary life. Not so much through choice, but by sheer coincidence. I always just seem to be in the right place at the wrong time, or vice versa. My friends all say, “You should write a book!” I thought about doing that, but then realized that the only parts anyone would really be interested in would be . . . yeah, the sex and the erotica and the weird. So, I decided to compile a series of stories about some of my sexual exploits. Some were planned, but most were not. I have also tried to keep them in date order, so if you notice any discrepancies, I apologize in advance. These stories are all based on fact. Over the years I have just forgotten some of the minor details such as clothes, eye, hair colours and exact words spoken. But the stories themselves - believe it or not - really are true, however incredible they may seem. Some guys have all the luck. Or not, as the case may be. And there’s been a few of them, I can tell you! A shotgun up the nose really concentrates the mind! I hope you enjoy reading along as I take you through some of the strange things and interesting women I have encountered along the way in my life. At least those I remember. I shall not reveal my true identity in order to protect those who are still living, but if you recognize yourself in any of my stories . . . thanks. Or, as the case may be . . . sorry! Just so you know, I am an average white male, entrepreneur, self-sufficient, college educated and have travelled quite extensively. My ‘accoutrements’ are slightly above average and I have never, ever, cheated on a woman, or been with more than one woman at the same time (other than by request and consent). These stories all took place while I was carefree and single. I have a few favourites, and perhaps over time you would like to share with me which instances you would have liked to have found yourself in, or ones that you particularly enjoyed. Incidentally, these are all heterosexual encounters, though sometimes with more than one woman. Again, often not through choice, but chance. If my spelling and grammar and not up to scratch, skip over it; they’re just stories, not novels or medical books. Some don’t really have a story other than being a description of what actually happened, which is what makes them interesting. So please don’t leave comments such as “there wasn’t much of a story” or there was “no character development”, etc. Of course there isn’t - they’re just real-life stories intended for you to read when you have nothing better to do. Such as when you’ve been a complete dick and pissed off your woman and are now sleeping on the couch – again! Some are funny, some are sad, and some are just downright weird and have no particular story. I just hope they make for an interesting read. Recipes aren’t exciting, but we enjoy the results. Some will be quite short, perhaps only a page or two, but I’m not trying to get them into the Premium Catalogue – they’ll stay on Smashwords and my website only. I also make no apologies for the language used. If you’re easily offended by coarse, hard-hitting language and descriptions, my stories are probably not for you. I call a spade a spade. If you prefer ‘shovel’, I don’t give a shit. Some women may not like the way I refer to their bodies or the language I use, but that’s just the way it is. Some don’t mind and actually like it, others freak out. If you’re a freaker, close the story and move on. If you don’t mind, read on and kudos to you! Also, I am British (Scottish), so readers other than Brits may be confused by some of my terminology and turn of phrase. I’ll try to keep the language universal, but that’s not always possible as it may kill the gist of the story. If you don’t ‘get it’, don’t worry. Try another one. Or as we Brits would say, “Suck it and see!” (try it) Remember: No one ever lay on their death bed thinking, “I wish I hadn’t fucked so many women.” A word of warning: I am not advocating sexual promiscuity. Sexual diseases are very real. Whatever you do, PRACTISE SAFE SEX! But most of all, the next time you are with a woman, make love to her as if she were the last woman on earth and it’s your last shot. You’ll thank me for it later. And so will she. Give her all you’ve got and she’ll take you to paradise and back – trust me on this one. Been there, done that, keep going back. I have a season ticket . . .
