Closing Time

Lexi turned off the neon sign, locked the door, and leaned against the glass, letting out a long sigh. It had easily been Cocoa and Cream’s busiest night yet, and the café was a mess, with tables that needed to be cleared, dishes that needed to be washed, and a floor that really needed to be swept.

“Some crowd, huh?” Tina called from the kitchen, glancing out through the service window.

“You know, we need to think about hiring somebody if it’s going to stay like this,” Lexi replied. So far, the two of them had been the only ones running the café, and business had been growing ever since day one. “We’re not going to be able to keep up.”

“I wouldn’t mind having that problem,” Tina said. She emerged from the kitchen with two bus tubs and the pair began to clear the tables.

“I’m not complaining, but we really could have used extra help tonight,” Lexi said, glancing at her watch. “I’ve got a date with Maria after work.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of things if it gets too late,” Tina said. She had met Maria a few times, and she didn’t blame Lexi for wanting to meet up with her. The petite Puerto Rican girl was muy caliente.

Suddenly the phone in the office rang.

“Oh, I bet that’s for me,” Lexi said. She ran through the kitchen to the office and closed the door. Tina could hear only muffled sounds as she continued to clean up the dining room, collecting the dirty dishes and wiping down the tables and chairs.

The next thing she heard was the loud noise of the office door slamming, and Lexi came tromping back into the dining room. The furious look on her face startled Tina.

“What’s wrong?” Tina asked, drying her hands and going to her friend.

“That bitch! That goddamned bitch!” Lexi snarled.

“What happened?”

“Can you believe Maria just broke up with me?” she snapped, grabbing her towel and continuing to clean the table. “She said she met another girl at work and she wants to try seeing other people, can you believe that shit?” she said, furiously wiping the crumbs away.

“Lexi, I’m so sorry to hear that,” Tina said.

“Me too,” Lexi said, turning to the next table.

As they finished cleaning up, Tina stole a glance over at Lexi. Ever since they’d opened the café, Tina had had a crush on her business partner. With her perfect chocolate skin and curves just begging to be caressed, Lexi was a treat just waiting to be savored, if only Tina ever built up the nerve. Now that she had heard about Lexi’s breakup, perhaps this was the opening she’d been waiting for. Of course, it wouldn’t be right of me to jump on her like that after she just broke up with her girlfriend, Tina thought as she watched Lexi lean over to wipe off a table.

Lexi’s shirt opened, giving Tina a peek at the delicious globes within, and Tina felt a wave of heat rush over her body. As Lexi scrubbed away at the tabletop, her tits jiggled and swayed, barely contained by her lacy pink bra. On the other hand, fuck waiting, Tina thought.

“Hey Lexi, since we’re both alone tonight then, you want to have a drink?”

Lexi stood up and wiped her brow. “Now that sounds like a plan,” she said. “I could use it after tonight.”

After they finished cleaning up the café, Tina grabbed a bottle of chardonnay out of the wine cooler and joined Lexi in one of the booths. She quickly uncorked it and poured them each a glass, which Lexi eagerly accepted.

She drained half of it in one gulp, pausing briefly for air before finishing it off and holding the glass out for a refill. “Now that’s what I’m talking about,” she said.

Tina said nothing and poured her friend some more. As Lexi fumed, sipping her wine, Tina studied her: a smart, beautiful young black woman with a 100-watt smile, perfect skin and half-owner of a successful café. Not to mention a smoking hot body: she had once accidentally walked in on Lexi changing in the office, and she could still clearly remember how surprised she’d been by the other girl’s curves. The polo shirts and khakis that they wore at the café didn’t do much for anybody, but when she’d walked in on Lexi she’d discovered that the girl had the body of a lingerie model, with deliciously heavy tits, a perfectly flat tummy and thighs that really needed to be caressed. Why would anybody give that girl up?

“You know, things had been going really well with me and Maria,” Lexi said, taking another sip of wine. “I know you’re not into girls, but believe me, she is one sexy little bitch.”

Tina laughed. “I’m sure she is,” she said.

“Seriously,” Lexi said. “I mean, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, but she was a freak in bed.” She looked away, as if remembering something, and an unconscious smile grew on her face before she shook her head and looked back at Tina. “Sorry.”

Tina reached over and squeezed her friend’s hand. “No problem,” she said. “And you’re not making me uncomfortable. Just the opposite, in fact,” she said before taking a long drink of wine.

Lexi looked over at her. “Just the opposite, huh?”
