Stepping out of the taxicab, Penny stood in awe. As far as the eye could see, flashing neon signs lit up the darkness. The sounds of music rumbled in the air as people scurried about. She’d never been to Vegas. She’d dreamed of it plenty of times. Growing up, her strict parents hadn’t allowed her to vacation. Unfortunately being on her own, finances prevented her from traveling.
When she’d stumbled upon Madame Evangeline’s 1Night Stand service, it seemed as though fate was calling to her. After months of saving, she had enough cash to get away. Finally, she would have her vacation and on top of it, she was going to meet a total stranger and have a one-night stand.
“Right this way, ma’am.”
Coming out of her thoughts, Penny turned to the smartly dressed doorman standing at the entrance to the Venetian Hotel, her bags on the cart beside him. She nodded, gripped her purse tightly, and followed right behind him. Her legs shook with nervousness as she walked into the foyer.
“Is this your first time staying at the Venetian, ma’am?”
“My first time in Vegas,” she admitted. Her jaw dropped as she stared at the beauty before her. The walls and floors were all done in brilliant and bright gold. The pearl-white pillars—a stunning accent to the yellows—stood tall and glamorous against the walls on each side of the entrance to every room. In the center, standing on a round, golden-yellow platform, stood a huge, gold-metal ball with interlacing strips circling in and out.
