Chapter One

“That son of a bitch,” Destiny growled, and pounded her fist on the bathroom counter. “I never asked for this.”

A stream of tears began to flow down her cheeks and her mind whirled. Last night had been the time of her life. She had finally broken away from her horrible, melt-down of a marriage and met a new man. He was different. Rich. Exciting. Handsome.

A vampire.

The word rang in her head like a skipping verse on a scratched up record. Her mind refused to accept it, but every time she looked in the hotel’s bathroom mirror, her image was like that of an apparition. “Maybe it’s just the mirror,” she hoped, and took out the small mirror from her makeup kit in her purse.

She flipped it open and looked at herself. Her reflection stared back at her, translucent and seeming to fade more and more with each passing moment.

“He didn’t even leave a note,” she lamented. “I don’t even have his telephone number.”

There were a million questions she wanted to ask. She needed to find out exactly what he had done to her and most importantly, if there was a way to reverse it.

But Alex Serrano was nowhere to be found. In the early hours of the morning, far before the sun had risen, he crept out of the bed and left her behind. The love making they shared was intense, singly the most climactic experience of Destiny’s life. Even through her anger at Alex and the confusing thoughts about what had happened to her, the memory of their shared lust permeated through everything.

“I’ve got to find him,” she said aloud, and then grabbed her stomach. It rumbled noisily and she realized for the first time how hungry she was.

She pushed aside the hunger for a moment and opened up her laptop. After logging in to LustFinders, she navigated to her saved profiles and scanned the list for his name. It wasn’t there. Frustrated, she searched their registry but nothing came up. Alex must have deleted his profile.

“Damn it!” she shouted, and slapped the laptop closed. He had disappeared.

The clawing hunger returned to the surface, wiping away her thoughts again. Destiny bowled over on the bed, grimacing. Never in her life had she felt anything like this before. “So hungry,” she muttered, and found the room service menu after rummaging through the drawers.

Destiny picked up the room phone and called down to the desk. Within a half hour, there was a knock at her door and a surprisingly handsome man brought in a tray of food. He was lean and tall, with short hair and wearing a very proper suit. She guessed he was one of the hotel managers or the concierge doing double duty, since the bellhops all had on red vests. She had ordered a simple turkey sandwich with a salad and as soon as the man left, she dug in.

The first bite of the lettuce was cold and bland. She felt like she was eating something that had been left out for days. With a retch, she spit it out.

“Yuck!” she exclaimed, and wiped her chin.

Destiny went for the sandwich next. “No way they could fuck this up,” she commented and took a large bite. Almost immediately the same similar taste filled her mouth but she forced herself to choke it down. After barely managing to eat half the sandwich, she noticed that her hunger had not reduced even slightly.

She stared at the half-eaten food on the tray and pushed it away. Just the look of it disgusted her. With on finger on the room service menu, she traced down the list, trying to find something the seemed appealing to her.

“Steak. That sounds…ok I guess,” she mumbled. “Wine. I could use some right about now, for sure.”

Even though she was short on cash, Destiny had a credit card. Sure, it was not just her credit card, but one she shared with her husband. Hopefully he hadn’t cancelled the card yet. If he had, checking out of the hotel would turn into a stealth operation!

“Hi, room service?” she asked, holding the phone close to her ear and trying to ignore the gnawing pain that gripped her belly. “I’d like to place another order, please.”

There was another knock on the door and the same well-dressed man entered with a tray of food, this time on a rolling cart. He looked at her strangely, noticing her oddly pallid skin, but paid more attention to her curvaceous body and well-endowed bosom.

“Here you are, ma’am. One steak, rare, and a bottle of Carbernet.”

When Destiny looked at the pool of thin, crimson blood sitting under the steak, she felt an almost instinctual desire to sink her teeth into the meat and drain it of its juices. Her mind snapped back when she realized the man was staring at her weirdly.

“Is everything alright, ma’am?” he asked, and Destiny’s gaze moved from his bold green eyes to the bulging vein on the side of his neck.

Something inside her began to shred apart, and with it came not just the thirst, but the overwhelming desire to fuck.

“Mmm, everything’s just fine, cutie,” she purred, and played with a long strand of her hair, twisting and turning it.

“Ok, can I get you anything else?” the man asked, and found his eyes drawn to the deep cleavage between her breasts. His member started to stiffen in response.

“How about a tip?” Destiny asked, and leaned forward as if she were telling him a secret.

The man looked around, wondering for a moment if he were being pranked. “Um, well, yes, tips are fine, and appreciated.”

“No,” Destiny said, almost growling, and grabbed the man by his quickly hardening shaft. “I want your tip.”
